One of our group members had left behind his bag in a remote restaurant prior to his arrival and with the great assistance of the hotel staff, we managed eventually to confirm that the bag had been sent to a police station. The staff, who didn’t speak good English , had been very patient in understanding my Japanese of limited proficiency , and had the matter sorted out to our great satisfaction."

Also, be aware that this is not in Nikko proper - and a bit tricky to get to - you need to take a Tobu Nikko train from Nikko to Kinugawaonsen Station.Be aware that the staff speaks VERY limited English so try to communicate with them ahead of time to plan. They are so kind and helpful and will pick you up from the train station or take you to nearby...

"This was a very relaxing place to stay. There are hiking routes around the area. Recommend taking a stroll in the nearby mountain town. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. Udon by the river, foot spas, all were amazing! Ask a local for directions on the Udon by the river. Quite the amazing experience."

"I contacted the hotel through email, but they didn’t reply. I wanted to reserve a private bath for us but Ofcourse no reply so it didn’t happen. I wanted to reach out through Expedia but that didn’t work either. On Expedia the room details were false. The photos did not match the room we got. We requested a non smoking room and ended up getting a smoking room. When we asked the staff they sprayed a air freshener in the room which didn’t do anything. I guess if you aren’t Japanese it’s just hard...
