"Had a lovely stay at Novotel in York. Very clean and good standard room. Close to the centre. Only down side is, you can hear the noise from the corridor at times. Our room was next to the lift. "

"Very large room with good kitchen. Note - no oven, just microwave/convection, and the extractor fan doesn’t actually take the smoke out, it just circulates it, we set off a smoke alarm. Walking distance from local shops and city centre, underground parking. Free coffee machine (a good one) and free croissants in the morning in lieu of dining room"

"On main road so expect noise didn’t worry us. Hotel is old so a bit shabby and outdated. No towel rack in room, so doing green thing and not changing towels daily ended up with wet towels next day for shower. Shower over bath. Cold shower second day blamed on tour bus group leaving that morning, there system should be able to cope. Very convenient bus to York city just across the road and only 2 pounds per adult, more convenient and cheaper than driving car in. "
