"Great location far enough away from Mirissa. Peaceful and welcoming staff. Difficult to find a spot to swim in the ocean but possible to take a dip. Hotel pool wasn’t cleaned early enough for us to swim one morning (not open until after 8). Sri Lankan brekkie available as well as eggs and Gandon’s style, serving sizes were very generous. "

"Golden Pearl er et flott hotell til en fornuftig pris. Flott uteområde rett på stranden med mange solsenger. Betjeningen er imøtekommende, men det oppsto her som mange andre steder i Sri Lanka en del kommunikasjonsproblemer grunnet dårlig engelsk forståelse. Fantastisk meny på kjøkkenet, men vi visste knapt at de hadde en før avreise, så informasjonen til gjestene burde vært bedre."

"Very relaxing stay next to the lagoon but also an easy walk to the beach. Only one restaurant was open aged that was on the beach so a bit of a trek when it rained. My room looked out on to a corridor which wasn’t ideal and the sealant around bathroom fittings was black with mildew. But largely these are minor details to a comfortable and relaxing stay at a fair price."

"Amazing stay, even extended twice. The service is second to none, everything is no problem. From the amazing view of the sea to all the varied wildlife in the grounds, posse of monkeys visit every day drinking from the pool and generally being monkeys to peacocks, a mongoose, frogs, all the birds. Nick the owner is a friendly chap and clearly set the ethos of this place and is always around to help if needed. Kalpa and Umesh (managers) are great, absolute credit to the place. "If you are looking for a dose of peace & quiet, this is it. Long empty beaches, palm trees, the occasional monkey, orchids in the garden. The staff was very friendly. There are only 12 rooms, so theres a familiar feel in staying here. The rooms and grounds were very clean. The view from my room was spectacular. "Friendly staff and facilities at the hotel are good. Nearest beach is a rocky beach. Last few KM of the road leading to the hotel is very poor. This section needs to upgrade and possibly out of hotel managements' control. They may need to coordinate with the neighboring hotels and the local authority. "Ok so this is a fabulous residence that is being used as a boutique hotel with 5 en-suite rooms. Located directly into Turtle beach it has fabulous views. Amazing place, great vibe, excellent service

"Amazing stay, even extended twice. The service is second to none, everything is no problem. From the amazing view of the sea to all the varied wildlife in the grounds, posse of monkeys visit every day drinking from the pool and generally being monkeys to peacocks, a mongoose, frogs, all the birds. Nick the owner is a friendly chap and clearly set the ethos of this place and is always around to help if needed. Kalpa and Umesh (managers) are great, absolute credit to the place. Can’t say a bad word, if we are back to Sri Lanka then a visit here will be on the cards again. We had 2 rooms, both great, outdoor showers, very clean, air con, amazing views over the lagoon, comfy beds. Best place we stayed in Sri Lanka, only left as we had plans. The beach is 2 min walk away past all the hermit crabs, we saw baby turtles going into the sea one evening just before they close the beach due to conservation. We then went another night with the turtle conservation next door and witnessed a turtle laying eggs. This place has it all."
