"Overall my experience was great. I was there with my same sex partner and felt welcomed, which was a concern when going to a country where it is illegal. The facilities were quite nice, though there were some small things which were a bit off like the hook in the bathroom kept falling off. The restaurant was also overpriced and underwhelming, especially when there are such good restaurants around. The front desk staff were wonderful at offering recommendations for food though. "I think they should look into mosquitos being in the room and where the AC is situated is not getting to the bed area. The mosquitoes where soooo much in the room they gave me D4. I was beaten by these mosquitoes and i had to get me medication from a pharmacy that I brought with me back to America."

"We had never been to Ghana and liked the sound of staying at a Cultural Center and Hotel. Akpe was not a standard American hotel, but it was amazing in many ways. Safety was never a concern, even while walking around the village during all times of the day. The hotel is a few blocks from the beach, but we really enjoyed walking through the village, mingling with the shop owners and meeting the people on the way to the beach.
