"Lovely hotel in a great location for York racecourse and a short taxi ride into the city centre (or 30 min walk). Rooms are very well appointed although the bathroom could be upgraded with dual flush toilet etc. Bed was very comfortable and noise was at a minimum. Staff are helpful and friendly. We like that the pool was open till 11pm"

"We had a great stay. All staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean and such a lovely building. Room was a squeeze to negotiate the entrance way and was a bit dark in certain places. "We booked a very last minute stay here. The drive into hotel is lovely and from the outside a lot of character. Inside main hotel was modernly decorated and still had character.
