"It's a nice hotel with hot spring on the 3rd floor. The location is convenient. You can easily walk to Beppu station, or You Me Mall. There is a Lawson across the street and there are also few supermarket nearby."

"Everything about Nihon No Ashitaba was so incredibly beautiful, serene, and thoughtful. They offer a free shuttle everyday to Yufuin station where you can walk, shop, eat, and enjoy Yufuin. We were greeted promptly after riding the Yufuin No Mori from Hakata Station.They have multiple private onsens and a large open air hot spring you can reserve a time everyday if you wanted. "Lovely ryokan. Excellent fixed-course meals (both Japanese and western). As with most traditional Japanese inns, there is little flexibility when it comes to their set ways (such as asking for a cup of coffee with breakfast, when you are only offered tea…can not do). The area surrounding the inn is also quite industrial and unattractive. But it is within easy walking distance of Beppu’s main attraction—the Hells of Beppu hot springs."

"Nice property just off the main street, near train station. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs."
