We immediately notified front desk receptionist. Then next morning we told the housekeeper who was aware. The smears remained for our entire visit until our last morning when we submitted complaints to reception director again, it was finally cleaned at the time of our departure. Not only it’s very central, they provide you with free public transport for your stay (apparently a lot of hotels in Basel do this), their service was warm and friendly, they provide you with bottles of still and sparkling water!
