"This hotel is beautiful, extremely clean and attention is paid to every detail. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room which was a wonderful experience. The tatami beds were so fluffy and comfortable. They provide robes and slippers so you can visit the 7 hot spring bath houses in the village. Breakfast was also very good. It’s pricey but well worth it for a one of a kind experience!"

"Monjusou was a fantastic place to stay in Amanohashidate. It is close to the station, less than 5 minutes walk, and very close to all of the great sites to visit. The staff was excellent and treated us very well, and were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was amazing too."

"Lovely decorated ryokan, but no lift to the rooms. Rooms were very nicely equipped even though it was not large. My room windows faced the river with the “rotating” bridge over the river to Amanohashidate, the view was very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great, next to the area’s main attraction. Some shopping on the road leading to ryokan, the Kaiseki meals were well presented. Delicious meal even with the ingredients not top grade."

"Wonderful stay. Friendly, professional and accommodating staff from the moment we drove up to the property to when we depart. The staff even helped to sort out our luggage delivery to the next accommodation in another city. Our hostess Matsuri was sweet, polite and gracious. The property itself is beautiful and exudes an old-world charm, and our room with in-room onsen is such a treat. The meals we had were also delicious and thoughtfully prepared and presented. "Amazing staff and service everyone was so nice. Amazing hospitality. We loved everyone and everything about this place. The rooms are very nice and super clean and big apartments. The town is amazing with great food options and things to try. But honestly what made this place shine was the people. Hot springs are very nice especially out door one sitting while you see the river in front of you. For sure will book again for this experience if I am in Japan next time."
