"Lovely older hotel on Ocean Avenue, in the heart of galleries, shops and restaurants, and a short walk to Carmel beach. We booked a room with a double bed, knowing it was much smaller than our King at home, which size wise was ok for one night. But the mattress was old and saggy, leading to an uncomfortable night's sleep. Otherwise, everything was terrific, including free parking at the hotel, which is at a premium in central Carmel. We highly recommend the hotel...just don't book that...

"Clean rooms, great bedding and the fireplace was a nice touch. Would come back and request a room in a different building with better view. 5 mins from beach in car, about 20 min walk. Only bag breakfast which was a bummer, since I paid extra for continental and that isn’t offered there. Don’t upgrade "
