"We booked the St Croix Suite to celebrate a milestone birthday with mom/adult daughter. The room was lovely with a seating area and fireplace, so we settled in before walking to a nearby restaurant for dinner. It was dark, but we felt safe. A good hill climb, and more time relaxing. We didn't use the hot tub, but it is big enough for two. The bed was a King, and very comfortable. You do not feel movement of the other person, and we slept great. "This is a unique and historic B&B along the Minnesota - Wisconsin border so we decided to give it a try after seeing a good state on Travelocity. While the place is old ( in fact the oldest B&B establishment in Minnesota by their claim), it has been updated and the room we stayed in was spacious, had a whirlpool and large bathroom. "It had a nice feel to the place, rooms were hot there is no central ac. there is an ac unit but it only made the living room cold. I did not like that you get charged a fee for cleaning but still have to clean. Area is great and quiet but a ton of mosquitoes so bring off. The bathroom is between the two rooms but did not have locks so it’s hard to know when someone is in there. The beach was small but nice kids enjoyed that. Did not like that you are not allowed to smoke outside on the property...

"It was a horrible experience. We were told that there would be someone on sight for emergencies. It is very dark on the property with no lights outside. We had people knocking on our windows late at night. Come to find out that there was no person on sight and we were out there alone. Poor communication by owner. Never have been so scared in my life. The inside was very musty and smelly. We had to empty the dehumidifier 4 times in a 2 night stay. There us only one lock on door with the keypads...
