"Staff, setting, and food were all awesome. It was a peaceful, natural hotel. Prepare for rain. It’s a part of the experience, and there were lots of breaks in the rain, even some sun around the pool in the afternoon. The night walk was unforgettable, the little town of Tortuguero so interesting, and the water transport to and from Pavona docks was so mesmerizing and unique. I loved the staff who work at Mawamba! Big shout out to the restaurant staff, chefs, and bar staff. "

"Such a beautiful place in the middle of nature. I loved their pool and food was amazing (we got the “full board” option for all of our meals paid for and it was definitely worth it, buffet style, delicious). Staff were incredible, kind and always helpful! Clean rooms - with all you need. "We loved the freedom to explore the rainforest right outside our door. We saw a wide variety of wildlife: howler monkeys, iguanas, motmots, tree frogs, hummingbirds.... Tirimbina also offers many different tours. We went on a night walk and our guide, Walter, was knowledgeable and very friendly. Overall we loved our time at Tirimbina."

"Birdwatching Rainforest "

"Large property - suffered from recent flooding when I was there. Saw a lot of interesting birds and other wild life on the property. The rooms were large - but the space was not well utilized. I had the impression that there was a lot of deferred maintenance that was overdue. Nonetheless, it was comfortable. The food was OK."
