"Lovey eco lodge really working with the environment. Fabulous staff, couldn’t do enough for you. Lovely breakfasts, healthy locally sourced dinner buffet and tea and coffee all day long. Tours on offer were great too- we did the bird walk and saw so much that we would have missed! Rafting with Rios fabulous. Yes the rooms are a little basic but all in keeping with the ethos of the place. You will not be disappointed!"

"Mawamba Lodge is very lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the facility, walking along the beach, and strolling through the village of Tortuguero. Mawamba has a recycling station where you can pick up a bucket, walk along the beach and pick up garbage left behind by the tide. We like thinking we may have made a little difference for the turtles."

"This hotel absolutely blew our minds. The 30 minute drive off road was very beautiful and at first made us a little nervous but quickly realized with 4 wheel drive its very easy and fun! Once we got there... We were blown away. The staff. The rooms. The food. THE PRICE. 10/10. The natural pool area to me might be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my entire life and literally put tears in our eyes. The amount of hiking, exploring, and outdoor activities could fill an entire week. There are only 5 rooms so you feel like the entire property is yours and the staff knew our names only after 2 days. I will forever be amazed with this place and am even looking at building a villa there. GO THERE. Before the secret is out. "

"Beautiful property with amazing, large rooms. Great patio with chairs and a swing bed. Large bathroom with a great shower, water pressure and hot water! Property was amazing with lots of trails and animals. Only downside was the transportation option offered by the lodge itself was very limited - they should offer more boat transfers from the mainland. And install blackout curtains in the rooms - made it impossible to nap in the afternoons! "
