"Comfortable average hotel which in places is beginning to show its age. Beds are comfortable, room good size, bathroom small and somewhat cramped though functions ok. A shame our room was not serviced on the third morning as requested. Many bus services run by hotel for 15 minute journey into centre. Excellent pub across the road for meals. Enjoyable stay."

"This is a nice hotel right in the middle of town. It is about two minutes from the James Herriot house and all the shops and restaurants. The only problem is there is no lift (elevator) and you will have to carry your own bags up the steep stairs to your room. (There are no rooms on the ground floor). The staff does not volunteer to help you with your bags, so be prepared to lug them up yourself. The breakfast was very nice (and they have a vegan option), plus there is a bar and restaurant on...
