"I have read a few reviews about the Grand Hotel being one of the worst hotels in Llandudno but it actually wasn't that bad at all, considering the price I've paid for. It is at an excellent spot within the area. Yes, the floors are a bit creaky, and the rooms are a bit out dated, but the main thing was to have a nice rest after exploring Llandudno, and we did. Would I recommend this hotel? Not to everyone because people have different standards, but to someone looking to save on a night's stay...

"We enjoyed our 1 night stay at Tyn-y-Coed - the location is excellent for walking from the doorstep and the parking is great. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and had good storage. The addition of a drying line in the bathroom is a super idea. We loved the styling of decor in reception and the bar/restaurant and enjoyed the Snowdon Lager on draught. We look forward to visiting again. "

The staff were so helpful and friendly, we had an upgrade on our room because hotels.com had overbooked and the staff were very good about it. The room and bed were comfortable, but the kettle was a bit rubbish and not convenient to use (it was connected to the plug which was behind the television) The breakfast was pretty average, not the best but you had enough options. Only let downs were finding a previous guestsā€™ toenail clippings on the floor and left in the wooden panel above the bed (seriously, who does that?! grim!). The main disappointment was the seriously poor sound proofing. The rooms are adjoining so in terms of sound, it was like living with room mates with the adjoining room. "I arrived early but was able to access my room straight away. I was initially told that my room still had to be paid for but I had prepaid. This was resolved quickly however. The hotel is conveniently located on a regular bus route and I took the opportunity to visit Blaenau Ffestiniog 20 minutes away. The evening meal was excellent with plenty of choice on the menu. My room was fine and extremely comfortable. Some slight traffic noise as it was at the front of the property."
