"Excellent location, quiet rooms, staff and service also top notch; had option of private or public onsen facilities on site that we utilised twice daily; yummy breakfast with large selection; overall very happy except the single pillow provided was too hard for myself and my husband, so sleep quality wasn't the best. "Das Ryokan ist zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, ist aber gerade deswegen so charmant. Alle waren äußerst zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Es war ruhig und sauber. Das Frühstück so liebevoll serviert, ich habe es geliebt. Den Onsen im Haus habe ich nicht probiert. Die Lage der Unterkunft im älteren Teil Beppus ist super und sehr authentisch. Unbedingte Empfehlung für echtes Japan-Feeling. "

"While, on paper, the hotel is far from the train station, it is actually a very convenient location because the bus network in Oita is very good, and a major bus stop is located just across the avenue. There is a convenience store and a pretty good, laid-back, restaurant in the building. The staff was extremely polite and responsive. Very professional. The room was quiet and clean. Breakfast offered dishes and products from the regional area with titles in English as well as other languages. Many other services were available such as spa, massages and public baths. "Everything was poor. For Japanese standar I felt like staff was tired or not happy doing their job. Checking time was 4 P.M. while in other hotels was 3 P.M. I arrived at 3:10 and they did not let me in. A lady was going to give the key but a young man told her that was not the time for checking in. I saw other people registering before 4 and letting them in, so I felt disappointed. The room was very small."
