"I don't think I spent enough time in Tomakomai to get a good feeling for the area, I mainly stayed here because it was close to Sapporo and the hotel was within walking distance from Tomakomai train station. The hotel was also very close to a Don Quijote, Lawson, and Seicomart. The only room option available at the time was a smoking room, and while it was clean, the room itself seemed old and like it needed some updating. The view from my room was nice though, and there wasn't a lingering odor...

"Main issue is no taxi's from airport to the hotel. We waited for >1 hour for a taxi at 10 PM along with about 70 other people. I tried ahead of time to order a private driver but that was $200 for a 9 minute ride. "

"Very convenient to the JR station, but took their free door to Airport shuttle bus which was so nice on our departure morning since it had snowed overnight! Didn’t have to lug our bags on the snowy sidewalk!"
