This was a beautifully kept property, and so convenient for both the Hospital and for Taunton town centre. "Really lovely property, arrived late but loads of outside lighting so easy to find and feels safe. Room was perfect and bathroom had everything I needed. Breakfast at The Crown was also great, Only downside was noise from the main road with lorries unloading but maybe Im a light sleeper?? Would fully recommend "

"Really great room for the price, with soft and harder chairs and a good sized desk for working; Bathroom was well appointed with large walk in shower cubicle and plenty of towels on a heated rail; Tea / coffee, etc, supplied on a tray and a small fridge provided for personal use with 'top up' supplies provisioned in a cupboard on the landing; Room was very quiet regarding adjacent rooms but some road noise, etc, apparent for road-facing rooms; Car parking for approx 6 vehicles in a private...

"This was an absolute gem of a retreat. I was on a choir visit at The Abbey and needed to get there and back quickly between rehearsals and services and the place was just gorgeous. Beautifulmbig bedroom with all those little touches and sweet garden. Staff really helpful about leaving the car there after checkout and having a friend over for coffee. Breakfast was incredible…I want to come back!!!"

"Fabulous experience at this hotel! They really think of everything and make you feel special. The warm pain au chocolates in the breakfast hamper were a pure delight to wake up to! Love the eco friendly touches too."

"Lovely stay with an excellent welcome from very attentive hotel and restaurant staff. Room and bathroom was a bit smaller than I expected, and could do with a bit more modernising, TV was very small and floors quite uneven and creaky. But that kind of added to the atmosphere of an ancient gatehouse. Next time I would request a room with a view of the cathedral as I think these must be more spacious. "
