The room was large enough clean and warm, the bed had a solid frame, the mattress was softer than my preference but my wife was happy. The bathroom was large with a spacious powerful shower. "Comfortable stay is a period property in beautiful grounds. Only 2 downsides to spoil the perfection - fire alarm fault at 2300 on 1st night and a tiny kipper fillet at breakfast in the morning otherwise faultless."

"The old house hotel was delightful. Good size dining room with lots of period features. The room was a good size, well appointed and freshly painted. The hall had new carpet. However the accommodation wing had hints of 1970s with roof tiled halls , diy tiled bathroom ( dangerously sharp edges), dated furniture and an uncomfortable bed with people shaped hollows. Excellent service and a fine dining experience was a highlight. "
