"I have stayed here before and this visit was as good as my previous ones. I received a warm welcome, check in was quick and easy. My room was warm, clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was also good. There was no noise from the other rooms, so had a good nights sleep. I used the secure car park, with no problems. I cannot comment on the food as I did not eat there, but there looked to be plenty of choice on the menu. I would stay there again with no hesitation"

"Lovely hotel clean etc. provide fresh milk jug for the room which is good & unusual. Disappointing cooked breakfast & cook needs to learn how to make scrambled egg. But otherwise a good stay. "

"Lovely hotel and good food, our only complaint was that the heating in the room was not on when we arrived and we were told that it would not be switched on until 4.30 pm! Given that check in time is 3pm surely the heating should be on by then!!"

"This was an okay stay. The boiler was broken on the day of my visit so there was no heating and I know from experience the oil filled radiators do nothing! Apart form that its a lovely place, good breakfast. Looked a little dated overall. "

"A characterful property with a warm and comfortable atmosphere and excellent service. Location is perfect affording great and unspoilt views of dovedale, makes an ideal base for walkers. Would definitely recommend."
