Location was great and it was easy to find. I booked 2 family rooms, which were perfect for us and a good price. Rooms were clean, quiet, and had everything we required for our stay. Eg enough towels, extra pillows. Staff were polite, professional and happy to help. We had an evenibg meal in the pub. service was efficient and quick, which was great as we were travelling with children. Breakfast was cooked to order and again staff and service was quick and efficient. We were impressed, heaps better than the premier inn we stayed at the last time we visited Derby. We will definitely be booking rooms at Blue Jay the next time we visit Derby. It was a good choice for us as we were travelling with children.

Got ourselves 1 Room Twin single for a night. It was good for it's price, reception were welcoming, room size is reasonably enough for 2 adults wanting a budget friendly and quality rest. Would stay there again if I'm stopping by Derby.

Good location, very nice hotel for reasonable cost
We stayed one night visiting family nearby. A good clean little hotel. Room was very clean and spacious. Could not fault it. Very handy having the reataurant and bar over the road. We had a nightcap and breakfast the next morning. A great choice. Will return when visiting this area again.

Just what I needed
I enjoyed my stay at the Blue Jay. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. My room was good and the bed was comfortable. Despite the Blue Jay being close to the major roads network I found a useful set of off road paths towards the city centre so could walk around easily to get to where I needed to be. Good size car park. I enjoyed my meals in the Blue Jay especially the apple crumble and custard. I would book to stay in the Blue Jay again when I visit Derby.

Great overnight stay
Stayed here overnight after visiting family in Derby , check in and out easy, friendly reception staff. Very clean accomodation , tea, coffee etc, bath with overhead shower, good thick towels the room was quiet cheap overnight at £43 pub/restaurant on site for breakfast and meals, mcdonalds 2 mins walk away. Good very clean comfortable good stay.

Great for a quick overnight stay
We spent one night here in September 2024. Check-in staff member was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is clown and tidy and despite being next to a major road, very quiet. Pub next door serves ok food and drink, and has a good atmosphere. We had to be off early in the morning, so no idea what breakfast was like, but I liked that we could check out on line and just drop the key. This hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s not the height of luxury but was a solid, clean hotel with a comfortable bed at a decent price.

Visit for Donnington Park.
Very nice. Lovely room. The pub is good. Food was great. Really good location for Donnington Park. Mcdonald's for breakfast. All you need for a weekend.
