The Onsen is particularly relaxing - it is well laid out and the outdoor section allows you to leisurely soak while admiring the view. There are some nice places for walks around the property. "This hotel is dated and has definitely seen better days. I had a non-smoking room that reeked of smoke :(. However, it was low cost and everything worked. The guy in reception was welcoming and friendly- made a particular effort to explain things, show me the free drinks in reception and hand me a tourist map. Location is walkable from centre (flat walk), but slightly further than ideal. Many dining options easily reached, but don’t expect much English spoken (have a translation app handy)."

"It's more of a bed&breakfast than a hotel. No dining room, etc. -- mainly just individual rooms off of an external corridor that gives it an almost motel-type feel. However, it is indeed right on the water, the location and views are stunning, the rooms are clean and esoteric and breakfast delivered in a bamboo basket is incredibly charming. "lovely location. breakfast had a huge variety of choices. one small challenge was information. i asked about boat trips, went to the activity desk, who said they weren't running, who sent me back to the front desk, who gave me a bus timetable. every time I asked a question I was handed more paper. this was after a 15 minute long check in where they explained random hotel details. I then had to go to another desk to make dinner reservations - at the hotel. hoping for a bit more...
