"This hotel is conveniently located and offers free breakfast and parking. Breakfast hours end at 9 and I wish that the hours would be extended a bit, especially on weekends when people want to rest. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We did run into a small misunderstanding upon checking out…the sign on the back of the room door said checkout at 12 noon but we were told they are old signs and checkout is actually at 11 (as per room key sleeve cover). "This is a cool older hotel. It has some quirks, but lots of charm. One issue in the 7th floor bathroom: There's not a separate light from the noisy fan. It makes it difficult to listen to the TV news while you're getting ready in the morning. Small things. But the location is superb in downtown Washington. "We chose this hotel because it was so close to a metro station. Our room was very clean and the location and room were so quiet. It was nice getting a "breakfast" but it was a bagel and apple every morning; would have liked maybe a muffin or banana one day to change it up. Great Turkish cafe nearby for supper! "This hotel is not in Old Town but outside of it. You aren't able to just walk outside and walk around Old Town. That was the first misunderstanding that I had. The room was nothing special. Air conditioning worked great, fridge was cold. Toilet was a little dirty, missed a good cleaning around the seat. (I have 2 potty training preschoolers so I'm not keen to the cleanliness of the toilet seat more than usual.) The ice machine on 2nd floor did not work so I had to get on 3rd. One elevator was...

"This hotel is a very affordable option for those wanting to visit Arlington or DC. It’s less than a mile from the metro - walking distance to the heart of Ballston. Room was clean and comfortable. It was reasonably quiet. It’s great if you are just looking for a place to sleep. The only two issues that keep this from being a 5-star for me are parking and elevators. Parking is tight and if you get in late, you have to park underneath the building. I felt relatively safe, but it looked sketchy....
