"The hotel has beautiful views, wonderful staff (Tom and Marvin), and great food. It would be nice if hot water was available for showering. All of the water was salty as well. They didn’t have any blowdryers. Understood it is a hostel but for the higher cost of a private room, they should carry a few cheap ones at the front desk to borrow for guests of private rooms in case they need. A nice hostel I stayed at in at Lake Atitlan did this. The rooms on the rooftop get noisy if it’s windy. Minimal...

"I checked in & it looks like the hostel dormitory was being repainted so I got upgraded into room 56 at no charge! So I have a private room with a king size bed, a private bathroom & a tv that I plugged an HDMI cord into & streamed from my laptop on. Great setup, right on the beach, nice pool, water seemed clean, lots of places to sit & lounge around. "If you don't mind driving back and forth on dusty bumpy roads and asking where the heck this place is over and over, then it might be ok for you if you are a surfer that doesn't mind substandard lodging. The outdoor bathrooms were dirty with no water and the room smelled like vapors coming from the uncorked sewer drains. The room is worth far less"
