"A pleasant environment but needing a bit of extra oversight from management to improve attention to general housekeeping and service in certain areas. A new manager has just arrived who we believe will look to address these issues. Took feedback on board and keen to remedy. In a good location though. The Japanese restaurant on the penultimate floor is very good quality (albeit is independent to the hotel so take payment card)."

"The staff are very friendly and professional, ensuring your safety. The hotel is centrally located making it easy to walk to nearby shops and attractions. The Pullman is currently under renovation, which it sorely needs as its age is showing in the west and year of its rooms. Once the renovations are done, the hotel will be more pleasant."

"The hotel is in a great location. Excellent breakfast options - try the sarawak laksa. Staff are very helpful and the concierge was able to find tours for a solo traveller without having to pay for 2 people. I stayed in one of the older, cheaper rooms and the bathrooms are in need of renovation however it was still clean and everything worked well. "

"Meritin hotel is in Kuching Chinatown area with lots of local eateries and pastry traditional shops nearby. The free 103 tourist bus is just 1 min walk from the hotel. A supermarket Everise just opposite the hotel. Room is clean and functional. Recommended."

"The pillow case and bedsheet were not clean. Some black stains. The flushing in the toilet needs to press a second time before it stops. The lights in the room are blinking. They should be changed. The toilet’s tiles are in need of a good scrub! The staff are pleasant though. Overall the location is good, the facilities are in need of an upgrade."

"Positives 1.Extremely comfortable beds, we slept so well. 2.The water pressure in the shower was super strong. Wonderful shower. 3. Location is perfect. 4. Lovely patio area overlooking the library. 5. Wonderful service from reception. Negatives- breakfast I was so surprised how poor the breakfast was and this is something that could be remedied easily. The coffee was too weak (almost transparent). First morning i ordered the eggs and almost cried when i saw the quantity of food on the plate....

"This was our second stay at the Marion. It's like spending the night at the museum. You can read the history of the original owner if you spend a few minutes at the waterfront Chinese Heritage Museum. The hotel is very close to bars and restaurants on Carpenter St. that can be noisy on occasion. We have stayed in the Chapel wing both stays and we're not bothered by street noise. If noise bothers you you may want to choose a room towards the rear of the property. Seems like people either love or...

"This was our second stay at the Marion. It's like spending the night at the museum. You can read the history of the original owner if you spend a few minutes at the waterfront Chinese Heritage Museum.
