"The Skyline Lodge is an older property that is on top of a ridge a couple of miles outside of Highlands. The property is quite beautiful It was extensively renovated and updated a couple of years ago. Our room was large and nicely decorated. the bathroom was a bit small but fine. The restaurant is very good. It is a little pricey, but consistent with other good restaurants in Highlands. The bar is small but OK. The bartender and servers are great. There are some nits. "A Nice cabin in the woods with a creek right next to it. Town not too far away and pretty easy to get to. Our grandkids drove up to surprise us and we had a great time. "When the projected path of Helene was headed toward the mountains, I reached out to the property managers and expressed my concern. Their delightful response was “too bad so sad” in nature. We did not want to lose our money so after our own power was taken out we continued to press forward post storm with our two small children. There was no electricity or gas along our way.
