"We booked Colonial Inn for a family trip to WNC in September, but had to cancel due to Hurricane Helene. We decided to rebook at Colonial to celebrate my daughter's graduation from WCU. The first plus was the affordable rates, second that they will allow pets, and third they provide a light breakfast. The rooms are clean and cozy. The area is well lit. The walking area for pets is ample. And the property is quiet. I hope to be back in the spring to take advantage of the fire pit! "

"This was our second stay here, and we love it. It was a difficult time as we were arriving the week after Hurricane Helene. The host was very helpful in addressing any concerns we had about visiting, including updates on road statuses coming into Highlands. The house is perfect for families, and a very easy location to downtown. We will continue to stay here any time the house is available for future trips. "
