Learn more about Macmerry

Check out Royal Mile and Princes Street—just two of the popular sights around Macmerry.

Big field. NT4273 has two features, it's almost entirely hedgeless arable land and is crossed by the new A1. This dual carriageway is a sort of motorway lite and stopping is not permitted so it appears to be a hard square to visit. The former yellow road from Kingslaw does still exist in a useable form although it is locked. After the harvest it's possible to cross the field to enjoy the big sky and view to Fife. This was once a very big opencast coal mine, now back-filled to make productive farmland. There are plans for a new town here.
