"I made a last minute choice to stay overnight and chose quickly, without really knowing the area. It wasn't the safest feeling place I've ever stayed, and if I'd taken the time, I might have chosen a different location. There were very few cars in the parking lot and the lot was not well-lit, which made me nervous. The bed was comfortable and I slept fine. This restaurant has been in Galax, Va for many years. They serve old fashioned burgers, hotdogs and milkshakes for cheap. I feel like this represents the Appalachia region because it represents community. Every time I have been in this restaurant, it feels like your home. Everyone is so kind and the people who are customers all know each other who are natives to Galax. I think that the the atmosphere of this drive in/dine represents the entire atmosphere that I have gotten from people in this region of the United States. People are always so kind to each other and make you feel like you belong no matter your background. #appalchianechoes
