"We stayed at Golden Tulip and found it to be moderately clean, though some areas, like the bathroom corners (bathroom door couldn’t close), could have been tidied up more. The biggest issue was the mosquitoes—despite some repellent being provided, I still had trouble with them during my stay. Overall, it was an okay experience, but the mosquito problem could definitely be improved."

"We were a bit sceptical about the resort at first due to previous reviews. However it was a great 10 day stay for us. The food was lovely, couldn’t get enough of the prawns. The room with the sea view was amazing. The staff were great, thank you Maria you made our stay very comfortable. If you need some where close to the airport and 5min away from Stone town then I recommend Zanzibar beach resort. "

A few things can be improved given the price. - Breakfast is very bland and could use improvement—fresher breads (ideally baked daily), ripe fruit (two days I was there, the fruit served wasn't ripe), better training of the chef who makes omelets; they were often overcooked; have an option for adding cheese to the omelets which wasn't available.
