"We both fell in love with this beautiful Victorian house and its wonderful landlady. We were made very welcome and given a map of York together with an explanation about the Bars and Gates. Our room was imaculate and boasted a modern shower room, with plenty of towels. There was plenty to chose from for breakfast, but we both opted for the Full English (of course) locally sourced sausage and bacon. There is a car park, but i can't remember seeing a lift. We're already planning a return visit."

"Slightly complicated check in process with nobody on site and having to call a mobile number. However, once I was in everything was very clear. My room was up 2 very steep sets of stairs. It was compact but clean, with a small ensuite. The shower pressure was very weak unfortunately, but otherwise the room was excellent value for money. "Stayed one night - immaculately clean and compact room. Breakfast was wonderful and very tastefully presented. Thank you. Couple of gripes relating to weak pressure on shower and wooden bed posts which were difficult to avoid knocking one’s leg on initially. Otherwise immaculate setup with beautiful gardens and setting. Parking excellent for all guests."

"The hotel was conveniently placed for a function I was attending. I contacted the owner to discuss a slightly earlier check in..no problem at all. On arrival we were greeted and made welcome by the owner. A spacious room with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent. Top quality ingredients and all in all a great experience "

"Nice stay at the Arc. Kim is a friendly host. Room was a little cold but a supplementary heater was provided which made it cosier. Recommend it for access to central Harrogate. Bars and restaurants all close by. Parking was a bit difficult and Limited to on street but limited by a permit from the establishment. "
