"Tough place to find when we arrived at night, but reading the reviews i knew this. I would recommend a sign at the "Y" in the drive way to point to the house. The house itself was very nice. There is definitely a smell of dogs in the house so if that is an issue, this may not be your place. I was not able to utilize the outdoor spaces or the river because of a storm. I was there for a JMU finction and it was in a great location, far enough yet close enough. Again the only issue is the dog smell,...

"We loved the location, and it's was fun to visit with the animals. Wish we were able to sample some of the chicken eggs. There is a bit of deferred maintenance, some water damage in the kitchen. Would also have been great if there was a hair dryer available, especially as the weather gets colder. All in all a fun stay at a farm with a great location."

"I got very lucky and ended up with 2 nights in this beautiful get-away. I originally booked it for a High School reunion for me and 3 girl friends. We thought we’d spend time in the hot tub but never made it out of the cozy house. We broke out yearbooks and laughed so much. We never even turned the tv on. "We loved this house and its historic charm. Everything you could possibly need was provided, including firewood and really yummy coffee from a local coffee crafter. The location can’t be beat, literally right across the road from Devils Backbone and if you’re doing the 151 brewery and winery thing, this is your spot!"
