"Nice cosy B and B in the centre of the village Sue was an excellent host and directed us to a very nice pub/restaurant The Teesdale Hotel 100yards away where we had a pleasant supper Very nice bedroom, small ensuite shower room and toilet All perfectly adequate for our purposes Breakfast was tasty and enjoyable The dog Wilf kept us amused Parking was a few yards down the road, but quite safe For infirm travellers, worth noting that there are two flights of stairs, but we managed, reasonably fit...

"Lovely queen bed, clean, hot powerful shower, large room with tv, fabulous cooked breakfast included in very reasonable room price. Excellent food menu and large portions at fair prices. We will stay again when visiting Durham. We tried to go back for sunday lunch after our checkout but the car park was completely full reflecting how popular the three horseshoes is. A very enjoyable 2 night stay and there was a lot more on the menu we would have liked to have tried. Next time!"

"Value is OK, but the kitchen was always dirty, kitchen foor look like we're never clean. Always dirty dishes, dirty pots, dirty glasses, etc. Room was comfortable, bit put together with old furniture. For the cost, I guess is OK, but a little scrubbing goes a long way specially the kitchen. Or just keep kitchen out of the offering."

"A lovely house with welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. Very comfortable room with well-equipped “private bathroom” nearby (a very minor whinge is that en suite would have been nice). Great individually tailored breakfasts to set us up for the day. Location is in easy walking distance from the town and several good walks. Free parking right outside. 10/10"

"Our stay at the Westgate Manor was one of the best hotel experiences we have had. Hosts, Stuart and Kathryn give a very high standard of personal service to us and made our short stay memorable. The Manor offers fantastic accommodation and a truly wonderful experience with young dear in the garden in the early morning and three peacocks roaming around! We will be back. Thank you."

"We stayed here as it was close to the wedding venue we were attending and didn’t seem too expensive. Easy to find and park park at. Check in was easy and the room was spacious and I was grateful for the kettle and teabags/milk and use of hairdryer and ironing board. The downside was the bars downstairs. We were at the front of the building right above the hotel bar and both Friday and Saturday night I struggled to sleep til the partygoers left at midnight. I had the windows shut and the blinds...
