"The apartment hotel is a new building in a suburban residential area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant called Brothers nearby which serves gyros and other Greek meals and is frequented by locals. There is a mini mart and a couple of bakeries as well on the same street. There is ample street parking so it is a good location for those renting vehicles to explore Crete. We visited Knossos and Matala Beach but did not have time to visit the Old Town of Heraklion. "Very friendly and hospitable host, nothing too much trouble, excellent recommendations for eating out, any problems were sorted. Spectacular views of mountains and surrounding countryside. Could even pick out The Palace of Faistos across the valley. Super pet friendly,( dogs and cats were adorable and no trouble). "We loved everything about this property, from the moment we walked in. The lady on reception was wonderful and helpful. Our room was clean and modern. We absolutely loved the breakfast options, and it was something we looked forward to every day. The fact Petousis had a lovely pool, that never felt too busy, but also was literally a 3 minute walk to a great beach with a fun beach bar.
