"I've stayed at 6 or 7 hostels between last year and this year. By far this Motomachi Yokohama Hostel is the cleanest. Facility is very new. Nothing is worn out or not repaired. The location is also amazing. It's on a high end shopping street with boutique fashion, jewery, pastery, grocery shops. Prices are not excessive. Yes, higher than Osaka but in returni get back higher level of comfort and convenience. "

"Chillulu was okay. Not spectacular, however a good enough short term stay (2 nights for me). The location in Yokohama Chinatown is hard to beat! I even tried the Cafe downstairs and it was excellent tho on the pricier side. The property itself is old, but maintained, however I need to mention how cramped I felt and the curtains and thin walls offer little from the other travelers. Good location, but I’ll stop there. "

"Loved the guest house. The staff were amazing, especially Moka. She was very helpful and kind and the first evening she made us takoyaki. The only downside is that it's a bit far from downtown. However, with the subway nearly everywhere it's really accessible including Yokohama, so it wasn't that bad. The area is nice and quiet and very safe. I will definitely come back."

"This is a cute 60-year old Japanese house tucked away in a funky part of Yokohama filled with small bars (including my favorite jazz bar). The home has been remodeled in a way that keeps the charm of the old house, but has the conveniences of a modern international hotel (easy shower, Toto, speedy wifi). They also are great hosts and have a nice small lobby where people can hang out. The rate is very reasonable and personable compared with a capsule hotel. "
