But the real treat came after a long day of hiking when I was able to return to a cozy pub to have a hot meal, a pint of ale and a nice read by a roaring fire. "Room was excellent in all respects. Reception was friendly. We could only reach the breakfast room by walking across the car-park, which was not pleasant in the February weather, but the wide selection and generous portions of cooked food available for breakfast add to the overall good value for money offered by this hotel. Having smaller appetites, we would have liked to see some bread or toast alongside the jam and butter on the buffet table or at least to see them mentioned on the menu,...

"Gorgeous from the moment we arrived. Our dogs were fussed, the staff were so friendly. We enjoyed our cooked breakfast so much aswell. A really lovely location … will definitely be back! "

Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast (which doesn't start until 8:30am), but they were really amazing in trying to help us and they did make us a breakfast sandwich to take away which was much appreciated.The bed also was very comfortable!"

I give four stars only because the price was a little unreasonable for the time of year (mid-November) when many local attractions are closed. Otherwise I could not recommend this place enough for a lovely weekend break. "
