"After the challenges of checking in, this place was charming. Figured out how to walk into town. Nice breakfast. Charming host with limited English. Lovely old house full of antiques."

"Bedding and towels and toilet roll not replaced, only one pillow each and never anyone on the desk, you had to call a number to contact anyone. Over all it was clean and very well priced. No kettle or iron or hairdryer and shower gel provided was empty, smallest shower I’ve ever seen but good water pressure. "

"Beautiful property, great breakfast. Our stay was spoilt be being asked by the owner to check out two hours earlier than advertised, ie at 10am, so beware if you are checking out on Sunday. We felt we had no choice but to comply - it should not have been like that. In the rush to vacate our rooms we forgot we had to pay cash, rather than the credit card details given on booking. The owner was understanding about this and we settled the bill remotely by bank transfer. So, a good and bad...

"Casa Do Cimo is a must for all those interested in the history and tradition of the area of Fundao. Fredrico was charming and very helpful. His cats also helped to make my stay more interesting. My understanding of the Portugese language grew by leaps and bounds during my time here."

"Luna Chalet are rustic chalets, and I must admit that the unit given to us was very comfortable with great views. Nice bedding, good towels, all dishes and soap needed. The only negative is that they supply the nespresso type machines but with no pods. It would have been nice to have coffee in the morning. A lot of channels on the television also. I strongly recommend the chalet. "

Stunning views and comfortable rooms.

"Spectacular views. Very clean and comfortable. Up a very long and windy, steep road so didn't want to venture back out and ate dinner at the hotel. Food was good enough but rather pricy for what you got. Breakfast was spectacular though."

"We had a very nice stay at this hotel in the mountains. There were some nice (though not easy) walks nearby me the hotel felt much like a wellness retreat. We opted for 1/2 board (breakfast dinner) since there were not a lot of spots nearby and the driving made me a bit nervous. The menu had good selection and I appreciated seeing wines on the menu from their Duoro vineyard location. "
