"It's too bad the hotel was in such bad shape! We were looking forward to some rest and relaxation. The Onsen main bath was closed due to maintenance so men and women had to take turns using the other bath. Asking about nearby restaurants for dinner because hotel's dinner was only available with reservations, front desk clerk clearly told us there were only izakayas, bars, available nearby. There was a wonderful hotel restaurant around the corner for dinner that included access to the onset...

There is good hiking around the town although the info available from the tourist office is quite limited for those speaking English. "All the rooms face the sea. Our Japanese-Western style room is very big with 2 beds and comes with an onsen. Onsen is natural spring water and reasonably big for 2 people. Onsen area not too hot as it is ventilated with outside air. We paid for 1/2 board and set dinner was very good. Very happy with our stay at Iseya."
