"Foul smell from bathroom. I wanted to leave or at least change rooms after the first night but my girlfriend didn't want to make the effort. I wish we had moved. Dirty floors. Ashes on the window ledge. Hairs in the shower. Uncomfortable bed for a couple. Dated decor. Central location. On-site parking was expensive. We parked on the street but not terribly convenient. Staff tried to be helpful. "

We were looking for a place to spend the night on our way from Rome to Monaco, this place, although only a few miles from the freeway, it is located on a mountain with narrow roads that take almost 40 minutes to drive. The check in is by yourself, there are only 6 rooms and when we got there at 7 pm we were the only people in the whole building. "Miguel is a wonderful host as is his wife Maria. Their bespoke room was perfectly equipped with everything you need for a self catering stay. Exceptionally clean. We shortened our stay as we had seen all we needed in Menton. Our only gripes are the many steps to climb back up to the room if you walk into town for an evening meal. Anyone with heart/breathing difficulties would struggle with this. The garden is a beautiful spot looking out over the med, sadly the room is facing their home so...
