"Had a wonderful stay at Wortley cottage guest house, for anybody that loves stopping in an old property this was lovely, the owners were very nice people. Will definitely be going back there. "

"Clean rooms , comfortable, could do with small fridge and bottled water. Candle pots in the dining room need cleaning on every table and when asked for gin ina gin glass was told it wasn’t possible by dining room staff! Meals in the restaurant were excellent "

"We had a brilliant 1 night stay here on a weekend. The room we stayed in was fantastic,good size and had everything we needed,I wish we had stayed longer! The breakfast was already in the room which I actually really enjoyed,I couldn't believe the choice available,there was yoghurts,fruit,granola,a fresh loaf,porridge,cereal,milk,teas,coffee,hot chocolate, even some britvic orange juice. "Lovely hotel, it's quirky and well presented with a welcoming reception/bar area The staff are helpful and courteous I stayed in the "presidential suite" and at around £100 it was well worth the money Other, well appointed rooms are available for airing £60 but after my last stay some of these have no window so wanted to avoid those as I'm a little claustrophobic My only criticisms would be that there was a fold out camp bed in the room which detracted from the overall appearance. "Warm welcome from reception. Good to complete most of check-in online before getting to the hotel. Room was spacious thanks to upgrade to privilege room. Very spacious bathroom. Liked having a fridge in the room. Large comfortable bed. Breakfast was mostly good. Hot food could have been hotter. Like having a proper toaster and butter from a butter dish. Hotel is on an industrial estate so no other restaurants in walking distance. Food in restaurant was ok but nothing special."

"There was a heavy snow fall over much of England whilst we were there which meant that we were snowed in and staff snowed out. Many staff walked in or abandoned cars to get to work and then worked first to cook breakfast (the chef was snowed in) and then to dig us out with the help of spades and the local farmer with a digger. We felt very well looked after and the staff did an amazing job in difficult circumstances.Great Teamwork! Thank you."

Lovely 1 Bed Central Rotherham Apartment

"The refrigerator is not workin ( expedia doesn’t help ).The apartment lacks ventilation as there are no windows that can open.There is limited natural light inside the apartment. While there are windows, when I open the blinds, it feels like I’m exposed as if in a display window."

"Just awful 😞 a large empty car park except for one car and a smashed glass bar door covered up with a piece of plywood greeted you when you drove in. It spoke volumes really. We checked in which was pleasant enough by a helpful young man, and checked out again 5 minutes later. Not a good sign when the cleaning team were still cleaning the bedrooms at 4.30pm. But the main thing was the overwhelming smell of the corridors and the rooms was enough to make your eyes water and you could still smell it long after you had left. A heady combination of Jeys fluid and a woody 1960s hippy joss sticks aroma. Made you feel quite sick and headachy to be honest. There was no escape, it was everywhere. On folding back the duvet there was brownish paper flecks (?) on the white sheet, no idea what they were. Then in one of the dressing table draws there was drugs paraphernalia, used cigarette ends, shreds of baccy, one random playing card and white powder residue 😱 we shut the drawer and decide to check out of there. When we told the young guy on reception, he was most apologetic and offered us to change bedrooms to some downstairs, but we politely declined and we’re heading towards the door by this point. We were looking forward to our stay there but it just wasn’t for us. The owners had really tried but I think it’s a continuous money pit for them. It might be cheap if you are watching the pennies and want somewhere to crash for the night, but definitely not cheerful. "

Lovely 3-bed Apartment in Parkgate Rotherham

Overall bad

"The apartment was not very clean and had a horrible damp smell, really disappointed as it was not like portrayed in the pictures. Finger prints all over the walls and even foot prints on the roof (no idea how they got there). No cooking facilities, shouldn’t be advertised as an apartment if there is just a microwave, more of a room with a few extras. Would not recommend "
