"From the minute we entered the hotel and were greeted by a lovely friendly and chatty lady, our brief stay was fabulous. Great room, fabulous food both evening meal and breakfast, all staff attentive, friendly and genuine. Best bit? A proper key to the room, not some daft card that works only when it wants to. "Just awful 😞 a large empty car park except for one car and a smashed glass bar door covered up with a piece of plywood greeted you when you drove in. It spoke volumes really. We checked in which was pleasant enough by a helpful young man, and checked out again 5 minutes later. Not a good sign when the cleaning team were still cleaning the bedrooms at 4.30pm. But the main thing was the overwhelming smell of the corridors and the rooms was enough to make your eyes water and you could still smell it long after you had left. A heady combination of Jeys fluid and a woody 1960s hippy joss sticks aroma. Made you feel quite sick and headachy to be honest. There was no escape, it was everywhere. On folding back the duvet there was brownish paper flecks (?) on the white sheet, no idea what they were. Then in one of the dressing table draws there was drugs paraphernalia, used cigarette ends, shreds of baccy, one random playing card and white powder residue 😱 we shut the drawer and decide to check out of there. When we told the young guy on reception, he was most apologetic and offered us to change bedrooms to some downstairs, but we politely declined and we’re heading towards the door by this point. We were looking forward to our stay there but it just wasn’t for us. The owners had really tried but I think it’s a continuous money pit for them. It might be cheap if you are watching the pennies and want somewhere to crash for the night, but definitely not cheerful. "

"Loved Staying here before the theme park Season really kicked off. My only issues are that checking out its best to do after 7.00. due to needing to phone to unlock the main doors if you require to leave before 7.00 Checking Inn at a late time can be problematic due to the main Gate connects to someones Mobile and Signal in the area is extremely poor"

"The apartment was not very clean and had a horrible damp smell, really disappointed as it was not like portrayed in the pictures. Finger prints all over the walls and even foot prints on the roof (no idea how they got there). No cooking facilities, shouldn’t be advertised as an apartment if there is just a microwave, more of a room with a few extras. Would not recommend "

"Pretty rough area of Rotherham. No check in desk or reception. Email was the only communication. Tiny slim duvets and very small pillow which had a hair on it, however the owner did arrive with 2 extra pillows and seemed like a nice guy. Sink was blocked. Heating was poor as it was a cold winters night and we had to keep dressed to stay warm. Recommend only to use if you have a very low budget. "
