"The house was very clean and had a lot to offer in the way of amenities. It was too cold to go into the ocean at that time, but the hot tub was available, and the pool could be used too if the heater is requested. Enjoyed using the propane fire pit several times, and there is a great view of the surrounding area from the highest vantage point on the deck. This is definitely a place that I would not mind returning to."

"Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property. The location is beautiful. The only complaint would’ve been that some areas of the house were not cleaned as well as they should have been."

"House was large and comfortable. Wonderful proximity to the beach. Close enough to store that having to run out for something was not a big deal. Theres a playground in the neighborhood to walk to. Hot tub was nice! Kitchen was fully Mtocked. It felt like we had what we needed.. my family had a great time."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Doodlebug! The weather wasn't the greatest so it was nice to have such a welcoming and relaxing place. You can not only see the ocean from the top balcony but also hear it- something so calming about the sound of ocean waves. Short walk to the beach- 5 min? We have an 8 year old and a 5 year old so it's hard to tell with faster adult legs how long it really was. Kids really enjoyed swimming in the pool. It's not heated but you know kids, they never cared! The outdoor shower has hot and cold water which was nice to rid outselves of our daily souvenir of sand. We now know where all our missing utensils take their vacation to- here. No need to bring anything like that/plates/cups- they have you covered with a plethora of kitchen things! The only thing we couldn't find was a lid for a frying pan, but not a big deal. We MacGyver'ed it up. The 'doodles' -aka oh my lands y'all have some talented artists in your family- were so fun to look at in each room of the house. Thank you for sharing that part of the house's name and not the bug part. Short drive to restaurants, maybe 5-10 min tops, which is a major plus on a vacation! No worries too, everywhere has you covered on chicken tenders and fries for kids. Mini golf was also a nice addition to our week of fun. We picked the one with a 27 hole course, which can sound 3x too long with little kids but it honestly was so fun, highly recommend! Thankyou for sharing your home with us!"

"Flyway was definitely the cleanest house we ever walked into in OBX. Kudos to the cleaners! The distance to the beach isn't bad. Just a short walk up the road, with 2 beach access to choose from. The public pool was super close and no one was ever there which was nice. We never used the hot tub, so no comment there, but it looked nice. The inside of the house is nice, new floors (easy to sweep), new tvs, new couch, new paint, decent size bedrooms with lots of private decks (the beds are firm) and extra space to spread out. The AC works really well for a rental! Normally the top floor never cools down. The only negatives were the lack/quality of the silverware (lots of forks missing and dull knives), the slow draining 1st floor tub and the Palmetto Bugs (we had a couple crawling about, 1 on my Mom's face while she slept). Overall we had an enjoyable time. "

"Gem of the Ocean property was perfect for our family. Plenty of room inside with nice amenities. The back yard was the gem for us with the pool, hot tub, putting green, corn hole and a volley ball court we used for ladder golf. There was also plenty of areas in the backyard for shade or sun bathing which ever you were in the mood for. . Access to the beach was right across the street which gave us multiple options everyday. Matthew the owner was very accessible and gave us very informative, detailed insights to the house and surrounding area before our trip."
