"Amazing attention to detail for a specail retreat. Enjoyed the fire, views, quiet and spa. Nice to have an electric lazyboy and smart tv. Cooking facilities are good. Bathrrom os lovely. Blinds could be improved, getting a little tired but servicable enough. A fabulous relaxing stay, i have recommeded to friends, and I'm keen to return myself!"

"Patrick was an absolutely wonderful host and the arrival process was smooth and easy! It was the most stunning location with a lot of space for the seven of us that stayed. Unfortunately it rained most of our stay so we are hoping to stay again to get to spend some time outside on the property. One thing to note is that the property is completely off-grid. We loved this aspect but definitely worth knowing that there is just one composting toilet and one shower when you have a big group!...

"This property managed to accomodate a large group of adults with a mix of couples and singles. The location was great and the property did mostly deliver. I think a bit more thought to the number of towels provided for a week of stay plus a more well equipped kitchen could have warranted a gold star rating. "

"Had a 5 night stay in Rimu. Great location, had everything we needed for our stay. Lovely & Clean. Steep driveway kept us fit 😀"

"The house is well maintained and has a beautiful view. The property manager was "all business" - but was responsive when help was requested. Only one bedroom was made available - the other bedrooms were locked. (I some times am restless and might have made use of the second bedroom - though in all fairness I didn't raise the issue.)"

"The Paihia Lighthouse is a fantastic property with amazing views and responsive hosts. Alisha is happy to help with any problem. It is at the top of a steep hill and has a steep driveway - this is not an issue (everything is sealed bitumen) but our mini-van had to be manoeuvred carefully. The BBQ deck is great for cooking dinner on a sunny day. We would definitely stay here again. "

We enjoyed the walk to town via tracks off the property exploring the surrounding hills.Russel was a great town to stay in for a few days. Access to surrounding areas was easy and Long Beach was great day in the sun.The cabin is well equipped with everything we could have needed! "Property was in a great location. The area was quiet. Affordable, yet spacious. We were able to make some of our own meals with the use of the fridge, stove and microwave that were provided. Minor concerns: lightbulb missing in the storage off the bathroom, a few carpet stains, the hot water tap needs to be locked in place as it turns when you turn it on."
