"A last minute change of plans due to the severe weather didn't derail anything too hard. An incredibly peaceful stop with great food and the relaxation urgently needed. Not even a power cut during the night was too much of a problem as the comfortable night's sleep just came a little sooner! Would absolutely return here."

"Stayed for two nights DDB all the staff were friendly and helpful. The Room was clean and comfortable. Nice size shower, could have done with a shower mat in the shower. The room was a nice size and was neve cold always a nice temperature. Nice touch with the fresh milk kept in a little fridge on the landing for your teas and coffee. Will definitely stay again "

Accomodated us with a bigger room on the 1st before check in as we were booked in on the ground floor in needs with easy access room. really appreciated the care and attention to detail will be staying there again! "The String Of Horses was an amazing place to stay. A quietly located inn it has superbly appointed rooms - the bathroom was amazing and the bed large and so comfortable; a lively restaurant serving quality high food and comfortable bar with an open fireplace. Staff are friendly and provide an amazing service from front of house and throughout the bar and restaurant. The breakfast service is high quality too with lovely food prepared to order. Well worth a visit and we’ll be back 👍"
