The hot tub is secluded and we could watch our kids play in the pool from the hot tub window. Location was great to access all the fun in the area! "This is not a typical review as this property is on the higher end of what most people can afford. Me specifically but we booked it as it is a venue that could support a large family get together well. 1) The views are beautiful but not perfect. Power lines and other properties do obstruct but still pretty dam good. Definitely gorgeous views, much better than most. 2) Be wary of bears. I have been going to Gatlinburg for 30 years on vacations and we definitely had more encounters in three days...

"We hosted a large family reunion and this place was wonderful with enough bedrooms with their own bathrooms. The hot tubs were a great hit with kids and adults. Our family also enjoyed the community pool which was also well maintained. The nearby locked trash cans was also helpful. The host was quick to respond to all our queries. The only issue was the doors to few bathrooms was getting locked and the keypad didn't work for a certain time and we got locked out for an hour or so. But overall we...

"I was on a trip passing through several states and two days before my reservation the manager called me saying that they were having problems with the hot water in the middle of winter and that he could not rent me the room. I understood the case and said it was ok for him to refund the reservation, but to this day they have never refunded me. This is fraud."

"We had an amazing time at the Big Lodge. It's secluded enough for privacy- a bear walked right past the front door- yet close to town for grocery runs and dinners out. We loved walking down the steep drive to cross the swinging bridge. The house was spacious, the beds were super comfortable, and the rooms were all gorgeous. "We spent a few days at Smoky Waters Lodge over spring break and had a GREAT visit! the cabin is exactly as presented in the listing. Everything was clean, organized, and no extra clutter in the house! It felt like a little retreat in the midst of the mountains. The cabin is only about a 15-20 minute drive from all of the events and activities you may want to do in the area. "Really really nice property. Only issue we had was the next guest renting the property showed up around 9:30 while we were cleaning up and our check out time was 10. It was a bit weird and inconvenient but apparently they booked the unit to set up for an event from 10-11. I think that’s a bit close with our time being 10 to check out. Otherwise, the property was beautiful! No issues at all. "
