"The Occidental is an amazing hotel and will be my number one hotel of choice on future visits to Istanbul. I was greeted warmly at reception and offered refreshments on arrival. I was then upgraded to a wrap around balcony suite. The suite was very large and was spotlessly clean. There was a gift of complimentary chocolates. There was a slight issue with the tv not working and someone arrived within a few minutes to rectify it. I was impressed. There is an amazing pool and jacuzzi. There are massages available at very reasonable prices. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, freshly baked breads replenished every 10 minutes, ginger shots, a variety of egg dishes, omelettes cooked to order, hot and cold buffet, churros and more. Delicious! It was my birthday during my stay and even though I did not mention this, the staff surprised me with a birthday cake and card delivered to my room. One of the staff also gave me chocolates. At checkout I was also given a token gift. All the staff went above and beyond to make my stay in Istanbul special, were super friendly and professional. A wonderful hotel in the heart of Taksim."
