"Short walks to the cathedral and central old town. A little noisy during high commute, about 1/2 hour per day. Excellent budget option; self checkin went well for me, but the locked outer courtyard door has potential for hang up day of check in. Staff friendly."

"Casa de Don Moncho refused to allow us to check in because our bus from Managua arrived late. They left us stranded late at night without a room. I've lodged a complaint with INGUAT (the Guatemalan tourism department) and learned that this hotel IS NOT A LICENSED HOTEL and DOES NOT HAVE THE PERMITS TO OPERATE AS A HOTEL IN ANTIGUA. Now the hotel is keeping my money instead of reimbursing me for the 14 nights they denied me. Tip- there are LOTS of hotels in Antigua, find another one."

"We arrived on the day of our booking and the manager of the hotel told us that they don't work with Expedia. I had a text and email confirmation of our booking and he told us that does not matter. He told us his hostel was completely full and did not care to help us at all. They also advertise as having free parking, and when we arrived he told us the hostel does not provide parking. Very bad customer service, completely unorganized and not helpful."

The property is a similar to an extended stay type of accommodations with mini apartment features: full kitchen, washer, wifi, etc. Quaint location with local living feel. "The property was absolutely beautiful. Availability was great, the only thing that I will remark on is that there is not a pool in the hotel or any other surrounding hotels. I went searching for an outdoor pool and could not find one in the area of Cayala. That is the only thing I would recommend. Any pool that could be shared by that hotel and others would be great. Not the AC hotel's fault, will always choose this hotel line. "

"Our stay was excellent; from the minute we arrived we were greeted by the staff. The location was prefect options of stores, shopping centers and restaurants. The breakfast is buffet providing Guatemalan typical food. The only criticism this Saturday morning the breakfast buffet was moved to the patio area and due to the openness; fumes of the near by vehicles permitted the area. "
