"Great stay , lovely little cottage "

"It was my 70th birthday on the 8th August. I thought it would be lovely to celebrate it with my family. 14 of us went -myself, husband, my 3 children and partners and my 6 grandchildren. There was plenty of space for us all. The house and garden were ideal. We all had a wonderful 3 days."

Louise was a fantastic host; great communication, met us on arrival for tour of the house (also very kindly left us nice bottle of wine, crisps and a large carrot cake from the local bakery on the dining table, as well as fresh milk and eggs in the fridge!). "Could be nice property but major TLC needed. Bedding is very poor and new beds needed. Small room ceiling is falling down, badly stained from leaks in above bathrooms. Bathrooms need showers fitted properly and bath sealant sorting out. Ivy growing into main bedroom. None of the doors close properly. Kitchen very dated, under sink is rotten. "I was disappointed not to have received the instructions to gain access to the keys, and was very relieved that the host answered my call when we arrived. She sounded surprised, as if we weren't expected! Property is a good size but we were only a party of 4, with only 2 bathrooms (only 1 shower) it would be quite busy if all 11 beds were occupied! The water is very hot!! Fabulous garden, great hot tub, we had a lovely stay. Thanks"

"The Stables is a charming and spacious property. We were thrilled to find it beautifully decorated for Christmas and an amazing basket of goodies/treats that we enjoyed throughout our stay. We were disappointed to find many of the light bulbs burned out or nonfunctional, leaving no lighting in the main hallway. Heating such an old home is always challenging, so not surprising to find the first floor very cold and the upstairs quite warm. The pillows and mattresses throughout the house left much...
