"We loved our stay here! The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Our dog received an incredible welcome, including her own bed, bowls and hamper full of snacks! The room was spotlessly clean, a good size, comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. The vegan breakfast was great and we had a drink in the evening, enjoying an expertly made cocktail. The hotel is in walking distance of Burghley House and grounds (accessible via the hotel's garden) and has plenty of parking for guests. It'd be great if they could install additional electric vehicle chargers as both were occupied on our arrival, but we managed to charge in the morning during breakfast which was really helpful with our onward journey. We'd definitely come back here!"

"I stayed here for two nights with my husband on our way down south. He is from the area and wanted to see Rutland Water. We visited various parts of the reservoir and really enjoyed seeing the area around. The hotel was also walkable distance from the museum so it was good to be able to visit that, especially when it started to rain. Oakham is a nice town. although we didn't do any shopping we went to a nice cafe and good Indian restaurant one night. We had a very nice meal at the hotel on our first night and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the place. Our room was very nice with nice furnishings and the bed was comfortable. We would certainly stay at the hotel again next time we travel south."

"A lovely hotel where the staff were absolutely wonderful, the kids were over the moon with the biscuits the lady on reception gave us, just a little touch but it was lovely. The room was a little dated but had all we needed and was well maintained and clean which is more important than the era of furniture (think 1990s pine era). The initial lack of signage for the car park had us almost parking out the front in a car park full of pot holes but as we got out we realised the car park was round the back son drove round there instead. The car park was well lit, covered by cctv, and easy access to the bar and hotel. There’s also a really good little park for the kids to be entertained if you want to sit out back for a bit. Overall it was excellent value for money and we would definitely go back. "
