The setting is rural, surrounded by fields and copses, just over a mile down a narrow single track lane. Very quiet, apart from the sound of planes on the flight path into Stansted airport 15 miles or more away, which didn't really bother us in October (though for a couple of nights bizarre acoustics did make a couple staying next door in the farmhouse sound...
