"Room was poor. I asked if we could gave another chair in the room as there was two of us. I was reminded i was in an economy double, so no chance. In-room tea bags. From all 4 corners of the world, but English breakfast tea - no chance. Breakfast was warm and that's being generous. Server said it's because people keep opening and closing the food containers. Because of a long journey i asked reception if there was any quiet rooms. She said all rooms were quiet - not so. Thus hotel comes across...

"The pool has literal lumps of black dirt on the tiles, it hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. The jacuzzi is the same temperature as the pool and also dirty. No shower facilities after the “swim” Run down hotel, breakfast staff were just there, never said good morning, no interaction from any staff actually. Won’t be staying there again. "

"Lovely stay at the Royal Hotel. Staff were very friendly, room was fine, beds not the most comfortable, maybe a little too warm. Location a short walk from center of town. Breakfast selection was very good, as it was out of season it was not a buffet, but cooked to order. Free car parking is a big positive. Overall a good stay! "

"The hotel is apparently closing soon which is a shame because we loved it. It was a bit quirky and old fashioned but very clean. The staff were superb and very friendly. The bar service and food quality was good. The position was excellent, convenient for the local restaurants and bus station. You can easily reach it by bus from the airport too. We stayed for six nights with friends and we all had a great time."
